get out your brooms!!

May 26, 2009

get out your brooms(PING)(imagine me saying it in a voice kind of like the guys who walk around on holy grail saying bring out yer dead)

mr. cowher ,

we are over you!! you can ring that siren all you want tonight…the warning is for everyone to get their brooms out and the hurricanes to start calling for tee times.

A quote I read today…” Canes would be nuts to let Cowher sound the horn tonight, given his record in Conference Championships for the home team” CLASSIC!!

there is a new sheriff in town now mr new teeth…and he goes by the name on MIKE TOMLIN!

so i decided to break out my maroon new balance 574’s for the picnic yesterday..i have had these for about 6 or so years and have only worn them a handful of times. good times.good food..good drink and of course..good kicks.

listen..i will be the first to admit that i think the systems that are in place are flawed. i see and hear the bs everyday working at the state building downtown and sometimes it drives me nuts. i feel that somehow there needs to be better rules or whatever it takes to get rid of these people who have found a way to scam the system instead of working.  at the same time i feel that americas health care system really needs an overhaul. there are too many people who need coverage that are not covered these days…way too many kids that need to be seen and taken care of that are not because they have no coverage or it is waaay to expensive. really unless you are signing your own checks lets admit..the rise in health care cost across the board is getting a little ridiculous.

what is already beginning to get on my nerves is people starting to complain about a possible tax hike on beer, liquor, and wine. while i really don’t think that is the end all solution it amazes me that people are whining over an added $2.00 on a case of beer…REALLY..if you can’t come up with 8 fuckin quarters or have a problem with it..stop drinking! that is just bullshit..what this comes down to is this is another tantrum from people who can’t believe we as americans voted in this “baby killing”, “black muslim”, “non american”, “liberal”, socialist for a president. really people…what you should be worried about is how much money g.w. bush and his clan of cronies spent on this war and ALSO how much they made off of this war: here are some statistics below..maybe if these numbers didn’t read so high they wouldn’t have to add these taxes…

Spent & Approved War-Spending – About $800 billion of US taxpayers’ funds spent or approved for spending through mid-2009. I

U.S. Monthly Spending in Iraq – $12 billion in 2008

U.S. Spending per Second – $5,000 in 2008 (per Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid on May 5, 2008)

Cost of deploying one U.S. soldier for one year in Iraq – $390,000 (Congressional Research Service)

Lost & Unaccounted for in Iraq – $9 billion of US taxpayers’ money and $549.7 milion in spare parts shipped in 2004 to US contractors. Also, per ABC News, 190,000 guns, including 110,000 AK-47 rifles.

Missing – $1 billion in tractor trailers, tank recovery vehicles, machine guns, rocket-propelled grenades and other equipment and services provided to the Iraqi security forces. (Per CBS News on Dec 6, 2007.)

Mismanaged & Wasted in Iraq – $10 billion, per Feb 2007 Congressional hearings

Halliburton Overcharges Classified by the Pentagon as Unreasonable and Unsupported – $1.4 billion(i like to call this cheney’s retirement fund)

Amount paid to KBR, a former Halliburton division, to supply U.S. military in Iraq with food, fuel, housing and other items – $20 billion

Portion of the $20 billion paid to KBR that Pentagon auditors deem “questionable or supportable” – $3.2 billion

Number of major U.S. bases in Iraq – 75 (The Nation/New York Times)

To date, the total cost of war that has been allocated by Congress is $830.2 billion, with $657.3 to Iraq and $172.9 to Afghanistan.

OR pay attention to this….

North Korea said it had successfully conducted its second nuclear test, raising the stakes in the effort to get the nation to give up its nuclear weapons program.

– Following is a full text of the English-language report on North Korea’s KCNA news agency on Monday saying it had conducted a nuclear test:

“The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea successfully conducted one more underground nuclear test on May 25 as part of the measures to bolster up its nuclear deterrent for self-defence in every way as requested by its scientists and technicians.

“The current nuclear test was safely conducted on a new higher level in terms of its explosive power and technology of its control and the results of the test helped satisfactorily settle the scientific and technological problems arising in further increasing the power of nuclear weapons and steadily developing nuclear technology.

“The successful nuclear test is greatly inspiring the army and people of the DPRK all out in the 150-day campaign, intensifying the drive for effecting a new revolutionary surge to open the gate to a thriving nation.

“The test will contribute to defending the sovereignty of the country and the nation and socialism and ensuring peace and security on the Korean Peninsula and the region around it with the might of (the military first policy) Songun.”

so while i don’t agree 100% with how or what we may get taxed the main scheme of things we need to look at our government as a whole…past and present and REALLY pick some issues and problems that need to be changed and dealt with. we also need to look around and take note on some other situations going on around us(ie: article above) NOT some stinky $2.00 tax on a case of beer! i am in now way rich…i bought a case of boulder beer/sweaty betty yesterday for $38 bucks…really..if it goes to $40 do you really think that is going to change my decision on what to buy?.. i will still be sipping on that same cold sweaty betty folks… the people who complain about this are probably the same people who go out and buy a pack and cigarettes for $6 bucks a pack…come on people..i am down for a fight on whats right..but lets use our brains a little bit and fight for something worth while.

***maybe they should legalize marijuana and tax the f@*k out of that right??? ahhh but then someone somewhere wouldn’t be getting rich off of letting drugs slip into this country..and everyone would be growing it in their backyards…so i guess its back to the $2.00 added to a case of brew. well enjoy your beer i am sure i will enjoy mine.

i feel like my life is stuck on fast forward and I am moving at some crazy pace…i know it has part to do with us moving and trying to get out of this fuckin house…it also has to do with me dealing with other shit that just won’t go away. I just hate it right now b/c I feel like I am not treating my body right…eating well…AND most importantly enjoying my family. we are always on the go and I know it will calm down once we are settled in but FUCK it feels like I am a zombie or robot just going through the motions. I want to start an organic garden finally..i may be too late again this year but I am going to try to get a few things planted to see how they turn out…i know things will get back to normal soon and I can’t wait to be sitting on my huge back deck with friends…or in the hot tub…or maybe  sitting on the  balcony/deck off of our bedroom sipping coffee early in the morning before the kids get up.where we will be there is not a lot of traffic and NO NASTY DUPLEX with people up all hours of the night next to me…i just can’t wait for these damn relaxing days to come…the sooner the better…i hope once we get settled in some of you can come over and hang out.

**Special thanks to whomever gave me some write in votes for NBV council..i don’t know who did it(it wasn’t keely or myself)but kee was quite surprised when she stopped up there to drop paperwork off and noticed the totals. She said that under the people that won there was a list of write-in votes and my name was among them. Its flattering to say that least and I wish I was staying in NBV to be a part of local government. Thanks!

I am happy that before I move I was able to vote one last time for all of the people who SHOULD be mayor and council people..there are some already on there that are doing a great job and of course I voted for you last time. I am just happy for a few others that I really wanted to see as mayor, council OR back on council again where her work has been much appreciated.

we are moving…we have a washer, dryer, and stove(all 6 years old) that we need to sale. if you or anyone you know is looking for this type of stuff give me a shout ASAP!!!

still waiting on the results on the MRI from my hurts…hurts bad..i am kind of scared at what they are going to tell me because i have been putting off these knee issues of a few years now. it finally caught up to me all in the matter of the first 2 minutes in the last dek hockey game…i hope i can still play but i guess we will see after i get the phone call telling me what my MRI says…keep your fingers crossed because i am having a blast playing with all the guys on the shh booms.

alright..thats all for kind and take care of each other!

i want to give a special engagement shout out to nick and lynn.  i just learned this morning that while they were in peru nick proposed to lynn. i guess that is safer than trying to bring back drugs to the states(did anyone else see that movie where the 2 girls got busted for trying to bring back coke?) anyway…congrats to the both of you and I wish you guys nothing but the best.

game 2 tomorrow…this should be a game with a lot of energy..i loved how the pens came out and it seemed like they just kept building steam…hitting hard..and getting to every puck..lets get it going for game 2 boys..i wanna see us up to going back to carolina. i am calling big game from talbot and fedotenko.

here is a pick of my boys wearing their new shirts for the game on monday while watching it at pappy bens…they like to stand for the whole game and wave their white towels…eben also goes and plays hockey during the intermissions…

so a few months ago a bunch of tattooed knuckle heads got together to do a series of zippo ads(see all of our parents asked us what we would do when we got older and had all these tattoos). it was really fun and a cool experience to be a part of something like that(thanks nick and lynn). so the first of what i think is a series of 4 ads is out in the new rolling stone with green day on the front. i am not in this series but the word through my modeling agent(joking) is that i may be in the 2nd and 4th ad. so if you get a chance go grab a copy and check out nick, horrell, tim, jake, dru, fitch, and lynn. keep a lookout for the next issue to see if i am in there..i will be signing autographs at the local sunoco…5 gallons of gas gets you an autograph..10 and a pack of newports gets you an autograph and pic with you boy…hehehehe..
so my nuggets lost last night…you would like to win game 1 but i always see game 1 and a feeler game..bitch as kobe is not going to score 40 and hold that team on his back the while series…i have been saying nuggets/cavs final and i am going to stick with that. cavs play tonight and i am calling an 11 point win.

anyone going to the show at station square next monday? i am pretty sure the macs are going to head down in the early afternoon to catch most of the bands we like. holla at me if you are going…should be a good time.

DMB is 1 month away…don’t hate..dmb is a blast inside and out and i hope to see some people there.
